Amy Richman is a nonfiction filmmaker and multimedia artist focused on making the complex world of academic research more approachable to a broader audience. Richman is a graduate of the Interdisciplinary Documentary Media Practices MFA program at the University of Colorado Boulder. She served as creative director for the MOSAiC Expedition’s education outreach planetarium documentary, Into the Polar Night, a National Science Foundation funded documentary and collaboration between the University of Colorado Boulder’s Fiske Planetarium and Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences and the Alfred Wegener Institute.
Richman is interested in the questions that emerge from applying arts-based research methodologies to non-fiction topics. Her work considers negotiations of personal, cultural and environmental survival, as well as archives, semiotics and elemental philosophy.
